Traditional Mexican fashion embodies colorful, vibrant motifs and elements incorporated into unique clothing pieces. These exquisite designs have been integrated into contemporary luxury fashion by design houses such as Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Carolina Herrera and Marc Jacobs, to name but a few. The fact that these international high fashion brands and many fashion boutiques have taken inspiration from traditional Mexican designs is proof on its own that Mexican fashion, which is inspired by outstanding Mexican heritage and pride, is loved and worn by many. This globalized prevalence of traditional Mexican fashion can be seen as a positive. However many questions arise about ethics and authenticity. The fact remains that most consumers are looking for authentic ‘Made in Mexico’ fashion items with a portion of the profits going to those who have made these garments with love.
Le Catrina Boutique is therefore offering you the opportunity to enjoy original avant-garde Mexican fashion that you won’t find anywhere else. Le Catrina Boutique is currently an online store offering the most vibrant and original fashion pieces made in Mexico. Its mission is to build a unique brand that blends traditional elements with a modern pop. They work with over 150 Mexican families who work with a lot of love and passion. These creations include bestselling hoodies, sweatshirts, jean jackets, blouses, shoes, fashion accessories and more.
Through Kickstarter, Le Catrina Boutique is ready to launch its first physical store located in the Bay Area. By allowing people to actually see and feel their unique products and experience the beauty of traditional Mexican fashion, they hope to reach out to more fashion lovers and bring value to Mexican culture and heritage. The rewards of their Kickstarter focus on their top sellers, with the hoodie being their flagship product. These hoodies are made by indigenous artisans from Puebla and are breaking the mold of what is considered traditional Mexican clothing. The hoodies are made out of high-quality polyester cotton blend and are hand embroidered with an original chest piece and a pocket stamp.
Backers of their Kickstarter campaign can also choose the jean jacket and the leather purse as a reward for their pledge. The jean jacket is a recent addition to the collection and has colorful embroidery across the back, the chest, and on the sleeve. The leather purse is made out of hand tooled leather and has a colorful hand-made Chaquira leather strap. These purses are made in Aguascalientes by a family of Artisans.
Le Catrina Boutique was established by Roberto Beltran and his family. They are a Mexican family living in Northern California, and have successfully been operating their online store out of their warehouse. Their goal is to expand their avant-garde Mexican fashion business by launching a physical store.
